Diagnosis to Recovery

Week 1

Week one of treatment.

Last Saturday, August 17th, I started with antibiotic A, one pill, on Saturday and Sunday. Then Monday I switched to antibiotic B, one pill twice a day. Every Saturday/Sunday I stop taking B and start A again. This Saturday I also add antibiotic C that will be twice a day seven days a week.

Saturday was normal no increased nausea or increased pain. Sunday I was very tired. I woke up to go to church, fell asleep in church, did laundry and then fell asleep at 2pm. Monday morning I switched antibiotics and it has gone downhill (which counter intuitively is good) since then, so I guess it’s working???

I have red bumps all over my hands and starting to spread everywhere. My nerves are on fire – you would think someone was electrocuting me the way my muscles twitch. Pins and needles throughout my entire body and the worst headache I’ve ever had – and I’ve had some bad ones. My hair is falling out much faster – I have a few balding spots 🙁 and I can’t stomach much food. My calories in the last 3 days have been cut in more than half. I started using liquids to make up calories (protein shakes, dairy free yogurt drinks, etc).

Its getting harder and harder to fake normal. I had a meeting this morning for work that I had to Skype into. I woke up with almost no color in my face and my bald spot becoming noticeable, so I fixed my hair to part in a different spot and put makeup on (very unusual for me) to cover everything up as best I could.

Right now, my first Meyers infusion…….
